Judith’s venture into making art started In 2003 when she enrolled in a drawing course at Maine College of Art, realizing a lifelong goal to learn to draw. Subsequently she explored a variety of mediums, including drawing in graphite and colored pencil, painting with watercolor and acrylics, collage, printmaking and black and white film photography and darkroom. Judith currently focuses primarily on printmaking, including etching, dry point, serigraph, monotype, wood cut and linoleum block.
A founding member of Points of View Artists, Judith regularly exhibits her work at Points of View Art Gallery located in the Brunswick Business Center, 18 Pleasant Street. She co-founded the Brunswick 10 x 10 Benefit Show and Sale that supported Arts Are Elementary for 10 years.
In 2011 Judith joined Circling the Square Fine Art Press in Gardiner as a Member. Throughout 2016 CTS co-sponsored A Sense of Place / El Sentido del Lugar with the Estampería Quiteña of Quito, Ecuador. This cross-cultural collaborative printmaking exhibition of 90 original fine art prints celebrated a visual conversation on sustainability and biodiversity. It was exhibited in Maine in Augusta, Belfast, Damariscotta, Farmington and Gardiner; in Boston, at the Boston University School of Theology, and in Quito, Ecuador.
In February, 2020 Judith spent five weeks as a member of the Community Press at Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Austin, Texas. It was a period of exploration and rejuvenation. The work entered into the 13th Annual Yarmouth Arts Festival is the product of two ongoing studies and series emanating from this membership.
