Upon retiring in 2006 I decided to follow my interests and discovered my passion in art. Ive always wanted to explore drawing and painting, I signed up for my first watercolor class with Portland Adult Education, then enroll in classes at MECA Continuing Studies where my interests expanded.
Painting has reintroduced me to the beauty we see every day. Most of my paintings are from photographs Ive taken. My painting subjects are diverse and include coastal images, farms, barns, animals, houses, flowers, and figures. My use of strong colors makes me excited, letting my eye and imagination steer me where they want me to go. I try not to worry about having the perfect painting but enjoy the journey.
When I look at a painting I have created and smile, I know Im done.
