Having mostly explored pastel and watercolors in the early years, I became interested in encaustic medium (heated wax with oils) and have been working with this medium for several years. This has led me to experiment with cold wax medium, as it does not require heat to fuse the layers. My work is now mostly in cold wax, but I occasionally combine encaustic medium with the cold cold wax to achieve different results. I do many landscape abstracts and currently incorporating more abstract. I enjoy the different textures and layering effects one can achieve in both encaustic and cold wax.
