Susan Myer Riley

Yarmouth, Maine
Susan (S.C.Myer) has shown her work throughout Maine over the past 30+ years. She holds degrees from the U Maine, U Washington and U Southern Maine. Susan was born in Southern Maine and lived in Germany and Seattle before returning to Maine in 1983 to teach in a one-room school on Little Cranberry Island. From 1985-2007 she was the Fine Arts Department Chair and Visual Teacher at North Yarmouth Academy. Now retired, she spends time painting in her Yarmouth studio. My paintings reflect the natural environment; changing tides, seasons, light and shadows. Using color and texture, I paint washed-up buoys, rock formations, pebbled beaches and gardens filled with flowers and vegetables The small assemblages document the past, using collected memorabilia.
